Charli XCX Portrays a Twisted Persona of Her Own Identity in Fictional Documentary Teaser

The Grammy-winning artist is getting ready for a major big screen onslaught in 2026, kicking off with the fictional documentary titled The Moment.

Throughout the movie, she embodies what she refers to as a hell version of herself.

It’s the truest representation of the music industry that I’ve ever encountered, the performer remarked.

She elaborated in an interview: It’s far from a live performance documentary, yet the concept originated from the pressure to produce one.

An Early Look into The Moment

The initial preview, launched on recently, mixes actual recordings from her live performances with made-up behind-the-scenes moments.

The film is overseen and co-authored by Aidan Zamiri, who explained that the narrative focuses on a scenario where Charli took completely different paths throughout the marketing of her smash hit album Brat.

A Hectic Acting Schedule

This project is only one of many upcoming film appearances for the musician, who has starred in three festival films this year.

Next year will also include Charli alongside Olivia Wilde in romantic thriller I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in creative industry mystery The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in horror remake Faces of Death.

She recently signed on to appear in the star’s first film as director A Tree in Blue.

I’m deeply appreciating my foray into acting, the performer stated. I feel very, very inspired right now in acting, and I only ever choose to take on roles that stimulate me.

Soundtrack Involvement

The month of February will also bring the release of the filmmaker’s version of Wuthering Heights, which will showcase original songs from the singer.

Additionally, she will compose the score for the drama Mother Mary, featuring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, scheduled for release next year.

The film is scheduled to debut on the 30th of January.
